Mike and Ben and the Food of the Revolution

Ben and I found ourselves, somewhat randomly, at Durgin Park in Faneuil Hall on Friday night with a few law clerks and an HVAC expert who we ended up having a conversation with at our new Friday night haunt, Houston’s.

We like to stand outside at Houston’s because if you look to the right, you see street performers and tourists, and if you look to the left, you see a bar crowded with Financial District heroes and those that love them. So Ben and I stand outside, in the heat, because we are somewhere between absolute wealth and the streetz.

And that’s how we like it.

Ben and Marilyn, who practices her cello 5 hours a day.

The last time I ate a pot roast was….uhm….probably 1964.

This same prime rib (which Ben ate) has been served at Durgin Park since 1774. In fact, Crispus Attatucks ate this same dish before he threw stones at British Troops and was shot.

WTF is the guy eating behind Ben’s prime rib of glory? A brontosaurus rib?

Looks like Crispus died a happy man.

I know, can you believe the size of that thing?

They used to beat captured British troops with that bone.
